Fire & Popcorn

After a thorough fire safety chat, we’ll begin with foraging for fuel (sticks) along the edge of the jungle, then processing them into manageable sizes to build our fire. After discussing what fire needs to be ‘alive’, we will work together to build an epic fire, using BYG fire sticks to safely light it, watching it grow and dance in the wind.

As the fire burns down and the coals get hot, we’ll fill our BYG popcorn cage with kernels, close the lid, and balance it over the coals with a stick. We’ll listen to our kernels heat up, and watch as each one pops before our eyes. 

Then we’ll add a sprinkle of either sugar or salt and feast!

What to bring:

Please send the kids wearing trainers with good grip (please no crocs, water shoes or rain boots) with a small backpack containing a water bottle, small snack and insect repellent.  Then depending on the weather, don't forget hats and sun cream when sunny and a raincoat if wet.

Further details including a google link to the exact meeting point will be sent out once registration is complete. Nearer to the time, we'll set up and add you to a session specific WhatsApp group which will then be the main form of communication where we will share any updates as well as a video at the end of the session so you can see the kids in action!
